A stable of backs in New England, the Watt Bowl, and shootouts galore.

Patriots v. Raiders In the early slot of games, New England faced off against Las Vegas. Patriots running back James White was inactive for this game, following the death of his father. The Patriots rolled out their stable of backs, with Sony Michel as their featured back. Michel had 117 yards on 9 attempts, with 2 receptions for 23 yards on the day, but he wasn’t the prize horse in this game. Veteran Rex Burkhead had a remarkable day for fantasy. Burkhead was used primarily as the receiving and redzone back during this game. His yardages are not overwhelming, but his touchdowns catapulted him as one of the top scorers on the day. Burkhead rushed the ball 6 times for a meager 49 yards, while finding the end zone twice, and even adding 7 receptions for 49 yards through the air with an additional touchdown. In PPR leagues Burkhead tallied 34.80 points, which many, myself included, did not see coming. As for the quarterback, Cam Newton had a pedestrian day compared to his pr...

Will Clyde glide your team to victory this week, or cause your team to come crashing down?

Week 3 Loves Quarterback Russell Wilson (Seahawks)- I know this one is not a sneaky, under the radar pick, but it’s just how it is. Wilson has been on a tear this season, and I do not see the Cowboys defense slowing him down. Matt Ryan looked back to his MVP form against the Cowboys last week, and I think Wilson is immensely better. Not only are the Cowboys the 27th team against opposing quarterbacks, but they are also the 28th against opposing wide receivers. Because of this, I see Wilson having a monster day against “America’s Team.” Running Back Jonathan Taylor (Colts)- Since the injury to Marlon Mack in week one, Taylor has looked very good as the lead back in Indy. Taylor ’s skillset allowed him to jump Nyheim Hines for this spot, even with Hines having more experience. Last week the Jets played the 49ers, and could not stop the run. Mostert was off to a good day before his injury, with his long 80 yard touchdown within seconds of the game, being the majority of h...

2020 has ruined most fantasy lineups, can these waiver adds come to your rescue?

Waiver Wire Adds (Roster ownership is based on Week 2 percentage in ESPN leagues) Quarterback Ryan Tannehill (Titans)- Over the past couple of weeks Tannehill has been a consistent contributor at the quarterback position. Week one was a close game against the Broncos. The Titans’ game script looked like the traditional ground and pound team we have seen, which leaned heavily on workhorse running back Derrick Henry . However, in both games Tannehill gained over 230 yards, and has thrown 6 touchdowns thus far. Tannehill’s consistent play makes him a strong candidate on the waiver wire. With Jimmy Garoppolo dealing with an ankle injury and most of the 49ers hurt, Tannehill seems like the better option. Rostered in 40.5% of leagues. Jared Goff (Rams)- Week one for the Rams quarterback was not the best showing from Goff, he threw no touchdowns, and had an interception in that game. Fast forward a week and the offense looked completely different. The offense looked strong and decis...

The Battle for Ohio, an Utter Collapse in Dallas, and 2020 Rearing its Ugly Head.

Week 2 Recap Week two kicked off with the Battle for Ohio. The Browns and Bengals faced off on Thursday night, with the Browns winning by a close margin 35-30. This game featured first overall selections at quarterback, Baker Mayfield and Joe Burrow. The Browns run game is the story in this matchup, with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt having wonderful days. Chubb finished with 124 yards rushing, 2 touchdowns and 1 reception for 9 yards giving him 26.3 points in a PPR format. While Hunt had 86 yards rushing and a touchdown, with 2 receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown, giving him 24.1 points in a PPR format. During the game, the plan seemed to be get Odell Beckham Jr. involved, as was evident with the targets and fact that he had an impact on the score sheet this week. I guess the squeaky wheel got the grease. Beckham finished with   4 receptions, 74 yards, and a touchdown giving him 17.4 points in PPR formats. Mayfield was the lesser of the quarterbacks in this duel, but this ...
