Notable Injuries

Titans and Vikings- As reported today, September 29, 2020, multiple players and team personnel (none have been named) have tested positive for the Coronavirus after the game on Sunday. Rookie right tackle Isaiah Wilson has been in COVID protocol since earlier this month, and linebackers coach Shane Bowen was not at the game after testing positive Saturday before departing. This requires serious monitoring going forward as it can have major implications on the league.

Chris Godwin (Buccaneers)- After returning to the lineup in week three, Godwin pulled up on a route and suffered a hamstring injury. With these soft tissue injuries time tables are very uncertain.

Chris Carson (Seahawks)- A cheap shot from Trysten Hill could cause Carson to miss time. The injury is described as a knee sprain, but further tests were being conducted to know the severity of the injury. Keep your eyes peeled for the injury reports.

Dallas Goedert (Eagles)- Goedert left the game against the Bengals with an ankle injury. The injury has landed him on IR, which requires him to miss at least 3 weeks. With Goedert out look for Zach Ertz to gain an increase in targets and resume as TE1 for the Eagles.

John Brown (Bills)- Brown left the game against the Rams with a calf injury. Strains like these can vary in length and monitoring the injury reports is necessary. Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, and potentially Gabe Davis could see increases in their target shares if Brown is sidelined.

Waiver Wire Adds (Roster percentages are based off of ESPN leagues)

Quarterback

Joe Burrow (Bengals)- After another strong showing by the rookie QB, it is time to consider him a fantasy asset. Burrow and the Bengals tied the Eagles, with Burrow throwing for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, do be careful if you are rostering Burrow as he will have a challenge against the Ravens in week 5. Rostered in 62.1% of leagues.

Running Back

Myles Gaskin (Dolphins)- The starting RB for the Dolphins has been a pleasant surprise thus far. Gaskin has not found the end zone yet this year, but his uses in both the rushing and passing game is worth the addition. Banking on touchdowns is not a great strategy in fantasy, rostering a player that has consistent involvement is the better option. Scores will come. If Gaskin is not rostered in your league he is a must add. Rostered in 45.8% of leagues.

Darnell Henderson (Rams)- If Sunday’s game versus the Bills showed us anything, it is that Henderson is the back to roster from this Rams’ offense. I was a little lower on Henderson last week going into this matchup, but I was wrong. Henderson was heavily involved in the Rams rushing attack, contributing 114 yards and a touchdown. Going forward it seems like the Rams will be going with Henderson over Malcolm Brown, while Cam Akers is sidelined with injury. When Akers returns to the lineup, I fully expect this to be a committee approach with Henderson and Akers being the one two punch. Rostered in 67.9% of leagues.

Carlos Hyde (Seahawks)- I included Hyde into my waiver additions because of the dirty shot Chris Carson took Sunday from Trysten Hill. If Carson is out for an extended period of time Hyde will be utilized as the early down back, as he is a one cut downhill runner and could pick up right where Carson left off. If there is a chance Carson misses any length of time Hyde needs to be rostered. Rostered in 14.4% of leagues.

Wide Receiver

Scott Miller (Buccaneers)- The second year speedster has developed quite the rapport with QB Tom Brady in recent weeks. The concussion Godwin sustained in week one allowed Miller the opportunity to break into the lineup and get game reps. With Godwin now dealing with a hamstring injury the door is again open for Miller. I look for him to be a reliable target for Brady behind only Mike Evans. Rostered in 15.6% of leagues.

Tee Higgins (Bengals)- With Higgins gaining experience and becoming more comfortable in the system and the NFL, he could have a serious impact for this team. Each week thus far, Higgins has seen his offense snaps, and overall targets increase. I look for the rookie QB and WR to continue solidifying their connection and becoming a fantasy tandem. Rostered in 9.2% of leagues.

Brandon Aiyuk (49ers)- This might catch a lot of heat, but let me please explain. Drafting Brandon Aiyuk this year provided head coach Kyle Shanahan with an Odell Beckham Jr. like player. Now, I am not saying Aiyuk is Beckham or will be, but his skill set and athleticism was what Shanahan has been searching for. After seeing no involvement in week 1 and gaining a bit more in week 2, Aiyuk saw his role increase immensely in this offense during week 3. He recorded 31 yards rushing, with a touchdown, along with 4 catches for 70 yards. I believe he will be a solid contributor for this team this season. Rostered in 21.3% of leagues.

Tight End

Mo Alie-Cox (Colts)- It looks like Mr. Jack Doyle has been kicked aside. Alie-Cox has become one of the major targets for this Colts team. With T.Y. Hilton being the only other legitimate receiving option, you would be foolish not to have Alie-Cox on your team. With the relationship between him and Philip Rivers only growing I believe Alie-Cox is a good tight end going forward. However, this week Alie-Cox has a tough matchup versus the Bears who are currently the 10th best team against opposing TEs. Rostered in 13.3% of leagues.

Eric Ebron (Steelers)- The reason I am writing up Ebron as a waiver add is due to his low rostering percentage. And I mean ridiculously low rostering percentage. Ebron is the number one TE for the Steelers, and since week 2 his production has been impactful. He has caught more passes, and his yardages have increased. In week 3 Ebron did find the end zone, which makes his stat line look very nice. With targets going his way, Ebron should be a solid contributor for teams, but do not expect TE1 numbers. This week he has a potentially tough matchup against the Titans who are ranked 13th against opposing TEs, but with their facilities being shut down the team may not be as prepared which could make this a good start. Rostered in 29.1% of leagues.

D/ST

Rams- The Rams had a tough opponent in Week 3, and fantasy owners who had them felt the pain. However, this week they have the New York Ants. I mean the New York Giants. Last week a banged up 49ers team squashed the Giants. With the Rams being healthy I see them having a strong week against the Giants. Rostered in 28.0% of leagues.

Sleepers, and I mean DEEP SLEEPERS!

Travis Homer (Seahawks)- If Carson is out for an extended period of time adding Homer is a smart strategy. Homer’s skill set is geared toward outside runs, and pass catching. This is very different but a good compliment compared to Hyde, who is the one cut downhill runner backing up Carson. Rostered in 0.2% of leagues.

Robert Tonyan (Packers)- The Packers looked to many different targets this past week against the Saints. With young tight ends Jace Sternberger and Robert Tonyan getting into the mix, the offense seems to be coming together. Tonyan thus far has gotten the nod over Sternberger, and has made the most of his opportunities. These last two weeks Tonyan has found the end zone, has steadily increased his receptions, and seen his snaps increase. If you are looking for a tight end option in the Packers offense Tonyan looks to be the guy. Rostered in 0.4% of leagues.

Greg Ward (Eagles)- Ward as a fantasy asset comes out of numerous injuries for the Eagles pass catchers. With Jalen Reagor, DeSean Jackson, and Dallas Goedert dealing with injuries Ward is next inline to gain significant targets. Now Alshon Jeffery should be returning to the team soon, but this should not completely impact Ward’s potential in this offense. Rostered in 0.6% of leagues.

Anthony McFarland Jr. (Steelers)- For those in deeper leagues, or looking for the “handcuff” for James Connor, McFarland should be considered. The rookie RB looked explosive during the game Sunday, and was more productive with the touches he was given than Benny Snell Jr. McFarland could be used on passing downs, or as a change of pace back to compliment Connor. Rostered in 2.3% of leagues.

All aboard the Wentz-Wagon?

Week 8 Loves & Hates Loves QBs Carson Wentz (Eagles)- The number 7 QB this season is Wentz , who gets a Cowboys team that has been beaten up in recent weeks. No matter who Wentz has had to throw to this season, all he has done is put up big numbers. Through all the injuries to the wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends, Wentz has been able to cover up the Eagle’s deficiencies. The Cowboys have one of the worst defenses in the NFL across the board. The Cowboys are 23rd against QBs, 24th for RBs, 25th for WRs, and 23rd for TEs. These rankings paint a picture of a defense that can be shredded. Further, the Cowboys have allowed on average 20.71 points to QBs. With Travis Fulgham being a steady contributor, the two should be able to tear apart the Cowboys defense.   Dereck Carr (Raiders)- This game against the Browns has the makings to be a high scoring affair. Both defenses are poor when it comes to defending opposing QBs and WRs. The Browns last week were in a shootout...

That’s the way we became the BRADY BUNCH!

Week 9 Loves & Hates Loves QBs Tom Brady (Buccaneers)- Brady gets one of the easier matchups this week when he goes up against the Saints. This season Brady ranks as the 5th QB, he has put up solid numbers all season, with the exception of the Panthers game in Week 2. Getting back to the game this week, the Saints put up little challenge to QBs (27th), WRs (23rd), and TEs (30th). The Saints defense has been thrown on this season, and with strong WRs, and TEs on the Buccaneers, Brady should be able to put up another big performance. Plus you should be looking to stack Brady with either Mike Evans or Rob Gronkowski .   Josh Allen (Bills)- Allen gets one of the best matchups anyone could ask for this week. He gets a Seahawks team that doesn’t know how to stop, or even slow down the pass. The Seahawks are ranked 31st against QBs, and have allowed 25.40 points. The stats that the Seahawks have allowed this season for QBs is shocking for the once fabled Legion of Boom. They h...

Hail to the King

Week 14 Loves & Hates Loves QBs Ryan Tannehill (Titans)- After putting up 389 passing yards, 3 TDs, and 1 Int, against a decent Browns defense, this week against the Jaguars should be just as good. The Jaguars have been at the bottom of the league all year when it comes to defending QBs and over the last four weeks, not much has changed. In this time the Jags have allowed the second most passing yards, 1,155, while also giving up the most passing TDs in this span. Although with A.J. Brown banged up, most of the passing game could go through Corey Davis . Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers)- This should be a decent bounce back game for the Steelers if the weather cooperates. After a tough game against the Washington Football Team, which is one of the better defenses against the pass, to get the Bills is a gift. As of recently, the Bill have allowed on average 22.33 fantasy to QBs with a 64% completion rate, 877 passing yards and 5 TDs. A big bulk of this increase are the 2 rushing TDs ...
