Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 11 (Roster percentages based on standard ESPN Leagues)
QB
Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins)- Since assuming the starting position, Tagovailoa has created a spark for this Dolphins team. His ability to move and extend plays, along with his decision making skills make this Dolphins offense a place to obtain assets. Tagovailoa has shown a willingness to spread the ball around to a number of targets, as was seen this past week with Jakeem Grant catching a touchdown in the redzone. Rostered in 45.20% of leagues.
RBs
Salvon Ahmed (Dolphins)- After getting his feet wet in week 9, Ahmed was heavily featured this week as he got 21 touches. The Dolphins decided to sit a number of backs, and after this most recent performance cut Jordan Howard. Ahmed’s 21 carries for 85 yards and a TD showed that this kid has what it takes to be the lead back. Plus, in Week 11 Ahmed gets a Broncos team that has let up 930 rushing yards and 7 TDs to RBs. This could be the Dolphins new starter. Rostered in 12.90% of leagues.
Wayne Gallman (Giants)- With Devonta Freeman back on IR the main role is completely Gallman’s and he doesn’t look like he will be giving it back anytime soon. Against a stout Eagles defense Gallman ran for 53 yards and 2 TDs. This week he has a bye, which may cause people to wait until next week to snag him, but I say DO IT! (Insert Shia LaBeouf meme). For those in need of RB go after this man. Rostered in 48.40% of leagues.
Kalen Ballage (Chargers)- Who would’ve thought that a bust for the Dolphins could be a stud in LA? Well that is exactly what Ballage has done. Let me put this into perspective as well, there have only been 3, count them, 3, other RBs to out touch Ballage in the past two weeks. These RBs are Dalvin Cook, Derrick Henry, and James Robinson. Although this won’t last long because Austin Ekeler will be returning around Week 13-14, there are a few good weeks left to utilize Ballage. The Chargers get the Jets who are ranked 26th this week. Rostered in 48.00% of leagues.
WRs
Cole Beasley (Bills)- So I will say this again, Beasley is a must start in PPR leagues. But, he isn’t a slot guy that catches 10 passes for 40 yards, he’s a true WR. While matched up against Patrick Peterson, Beasley didn’t shy away. What he did was completely embarrass Peterson on a crossing route that resulted in a TD. With his season stats looking pretty consistent people have overlooked him, but that needs to end. Beasley has gained the trust of Allen and his target share definitely speaks to that. Rostered in 58.9% of leagues.
Jakobi Meyers (Patriots)- Since the Patriots found out that it’s not illegal to throw the ball, Meyers has seen targets and has had an impact on this offense. Over the past 4 weeks Meyers has seen 37 targets, and he has provided plenty of yards although he has yet to score. With the amount of targets and yards he provides it is something fantasy teams should be pursuing. Rostered in 38.00% of leagues.
Michael Pittman Jr. (Colts)- I discussed Pittman Jr. in an earlier post on September 22, and stated that he could be inline to be a prominent option for this Colts offense. Sure enough, after he returned that is exactly what he did. Pittman was targeted 8 times and caught 7 for 101 yards. With Pittman getting more targets than TY Hilton it looks like the former will be the better option. Rostered in 6.80% of leagues.
TEs
Jordan Reed (49ers)- With George Kittle is on IR and Reed back playing this is a pick up for those that need TE help. The 49ers have been a team that heavily features the TE. When Reed is healthy he can be a nightmare for other teams to defend, and we have seen this back in Week 2 when he caught 7 of 8 targets for 50 yards and 2 TDs, and this past week when he caught 5 of 6 passes for 62 yards. With the QB looking his way there should be points. However, hold off on this claim because the 49ers are on bye week. Rostered in 23.80% of leagues.
Logan Thomas (Washington Football Team)- When looking for a TE teams should be targeting players that are heavily involved in an offensive gameplay. With the Washington Football Team utilizing their TE Thomas this should be a target. Thomas has seen 6 targets in the last two weeks, and this trend should continue, while also having two favorable matchups upcoming. Rostered in 30.10% of leagues.
D/ST
Dolphins- Is it weird that there have been multiple Dolphins players in a post? Anyhow, this defense has had some surprising outings. I think not only this week should be a good matchup, but next week they get the Broncos who have provided plenty of turnovers, plus they get a poor Jets team the following week. Just a nice little streaming option here. Rostered in 48.50% of leagues.
Sleepers
Rex Burkhead (Patriots)- As I stated earlier, the Patriots are now passing the ball. With the team passing more Burkhead should see an increase in play and become even more fantasy relevant. Burkhead won’t provide you much in rushing yards but, if you are in a PPR league he will catch passes. Rostered in 32.20% of leagues.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Packers)- It looks like the Packers may have found their field stretching player, finally. MVS has the speed that the team has needed for quite some time and now it looks like he may be catching passes. With Davante Adams seeing tough coverages, as is to be expected, and hopefully the Lizard King Allen Lazard returning, we could see MVS be the home run hitter. MVS looks to be one of the boom-or-bust plays, similar to the Cardinals Christian Kirk. If you like taking chances MVS could be the WR for you. Rostered in 13.30% of leagues.
