These loves are more than a Thielen this week.

Loves and Hates for Week 5

 Loves

QBs

Teddy Bridgewater (Panthers)- The Falcons this year have been terrible on defense and it has showed. They currently rank 32nd against opposing QBs. Bridgewater has thrown the ball well in his last couple of starts, and during the game versus the Cardinals he even showed off some nice mobility. The Falcons so far this season have been torched through the air. Going into this game the Panthers’ game plan should be to throw the ball all around the yard. I look for Teddy Two Gloves to have another great game.

Justin Herbert (Chargers)- Can the rookie continue his hot streak? Since taking over as the signal caller for the Chargers, Herbert has showcased his rocket of an arm. Much like the last game, the Chargers will face off against another Hall of Fame QB. Both defenses in this game rank towards the bottom of the league against opposing QBs, so this game has the makings for a shootout. With Herbert settling in nicely and spreading the ball around different targets, I can see the rookie putting up big numbers.

RBs

James Robinson (Jaguars)- The Texans’ defense this year has been an absolute disaster. The Texans have allowed on average 189.25 scrimmage yards to RBs. Robinson this year has eclipsed 100 scrimmage yards in three games this season. This game has the feeling of a huge performance from Robinson. Robinson should be a top 5 RB this week.

Joe Mixon (Bengals)- Mixon’s matchup this week is the Ravens, who normally I would be fearful of. Last week the Ravens faced off against the Washington Football Team and let rookie Antonio Gibson finish as a top 5 RB this past week. Mixon last week has a field day, rushing for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns while also catching 6 passes for 30 yards and a touchdown. With Mixon being involved in the passing game, a good performance should be expected. Mixon is a better player than Gibson, and the Bengals have more weapons for the Ravens to defend. I would expect another top 5 performance out of Mixon this week.

WRs

Adam Thielen (Vikings)- Thielen this week gets the luxury of playing against the worst ranked team versus opposing WRs. Thielen is coming off of a strong performance against the Texans where he caught 8 of his 10 targets for 114 and a touchdown, while also rushing for 8 yards. Last week the Seahawks allowed DeVante Parker to get loose, as he registered 21.00 fantasy points. The combination of Thielen and Kirk Cousins is far superior to that of the Dolphins. Look for Thielen to have another big game.

D.J. Chark (Jaguars)- Chark has been the go to receiver for Gardner Minshew this season, and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. Chark had a strong performance last week catching 9 of 9 passes for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. As I have stated before the Texans defense has been terrible. The Texans gave up 40.5 points to WRs last week and with the jaguars having similar weapons, this should be more of the same result.

TEs

Hunter Henry (Chargers)- Through the first three weeks of the season Henry has been a consistent TE for fantasy. After a down week versus the Buccaneers, I expect a bounce back performance from Henry. The Chargers get to take on the Saints who have been one of the worst teams against TEs, currently 31st. With Herbert and Henry starting to develop a connection, and the Saints being terrible at defending TEs, Henry should net a good amount of points for your teams.

Jonnu Smith (Titans)- With the Titans being without Corey Davis (COVID list) and A.J. Brown still dealing with injuries, Smith should be Ryan Tannehill’s main target. The Bills this season haven’t been strong against opposing TEs and currently rank 28th. Because the Titans are very depleted at the WR position, and the Bills have been beat by TEs, I really like Smith this week.

D/ST

Cardinals- A steady trend this season has been to play a defense that is going up against either the Giants or the Jets. So this week, I like the Cardinals who will face off against the Jets. With the Cardinals defense getting healthy and the Jets having to play backup Joe Flacco, there should be chances for the Cardinals to get some points and stop the Jets offense.

Hates

QB

Dak Prescott (Cowboys)- Call me crazy, but Prescott’s stats and fantasy impact have to come down at some point, and this week seems like the week. So far the offensive line for the Cowboys has been hit by injury with both Tyron Smith and James Looney both not practicing as of Thursday. Believe it or not the Giants have been very strong against opposing QBs as they rank 6th on the season. With the injuries up front, the Giants could rack up the pressures on Prescott and make him uncomfortable during this game. I am not expecting Prescott to have another big day.

RB

Kareem Hunt/D’Ernest Johnson (Browns)- With Nick Chubb getting injured and how well the Browns have been running the ball, this has to be a mistake right? Wrong! The Colts defense this year has been stout. Currently they rank 4th in the NFL against opposing RBs. This season the Colts have allowed 258 yards on 64 attempts with 1 rushing TD, while only allowing 125 yards on 18 receptions. Not to mention the Colts defense is also 1st  against QBs, 9th against WRs, and 1st against TEs. Because of this research I do not see Hunt or Johnson having a strong performance.

WR

Calvin Ridley (Falcons)- This week’s matchup against the Panthers is not a favorable one for Ridley. The Panthers rank 3rd against opposing QBs, allowing an average of 15.02 points, and 7th for WRs averaging 31.13 points. With Julio Jones being injured again and Ridley dealing with injuries, this just doesn’t feel like a good week. Last week the Packers shut down Ridley while only being ranked in the middle of the pack. Do not expect much out of Ridley and the Falcons’ passing attack this week.

TE

Austin Hooper (Browns)- I know Hooper hasn’t had the year we all thought, and last week looked good. But this week, this week should be another dud. As I stated early in this post the Colts defense has been a surprise this year. Based on everything, the Colts defense should do very well against all of the Browns skill players. The Colts on the season have averaged 4.53 fantasy points to TEs, so if you have Hooper you should probably bench him.

All aboard the Wentz-Wagon?

Week 8 Loves & Hates Loves QBs Carson Wentz (Eagles)- The number 7 QB this season is Wentz , who gets a Cowboys team that has been beaten up in recent weeks. No matter who Wentz has had to throw to this season, all he has done is put up big numbers. Through all the injuries to the wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends, Wentz has been able to cover up the Eagle’s deficiencies. The Cowboys have one of the worst defenses in the NFL across the board. The Cowboys are 23rd against QBs, 24th for RBs, 25th for WRs, and 23rd for TEs. These rankings paint a picture of a defense that can be shredded. Further, the Cowboys have allowed on average 20.71 points to QBs. With Travis Fulgham being a steady contributor, the two should be able to tear apart the Cowboys defense.   Dereck Carr (Raiders)- This game against the Browns has the makings to be a high scoring affair. Both defenses are poor when it comes to defending opposing QBs and WRs. The Browns last week were in a shootout...

That’s the way we became the BRADY BUNCH!

Week 9 Loves & Hates Loves QBs Tom Brady (Buccaneers)- Brady gets one of the easier matchups this week when he goes up against the Saints. This season Brady ranks as the 5th QB, he has put up solid numbers all season, with the exception of the Panthers game in Week 2. Getting back to the game this week, the Saints put up little challenge to QBs (27th), WRs (23rd), and TEs (30th). The Saints defense has been thrown on this season, and with strong WRs, and TEs on the Buccaneers, Brady should be able to put up another big performance. Plus you should be looking to stack Brady with either Mike Evans or Rob Gronkowski .   Josh Allen (Bills)- Allen gets one of the best matchups anyone could ask for this week. He gets a Seahawks team that doesn’t know how to stop, or even slow down the pass. The Seahawks are ranked 31st against QBs, and have allowed 25.40 points. The stats that the Seahawks have allowed this season for QBs is shocking for the once fabled Legion of Boom. They h...
